The August/September issue of Elmore Magazine includes a great review of Phoenix: Progressive supergroup Asia will never duplicate the mammoth success of their 1982 debut. They won't have any more hit singles stateside or any more platinum records, but they can find solace in the fact that they are among the best progressive rock players ever, and still make amazing music whenever they're together. As cliche as it sounds, Phoenix is the best rebirth this band could have experienced.

We are aware that there are organizations attempting to pass off merchandise, recordings and even performances as being officially endorsed by Asia. Intellectual property abuse cannot masquerade behind the “get out clause” of caveat emptor; it is theft, larceny, piracy, pure and simple. As has been mentioned before on Asia and member sites, one of the most efficient weapons against any form of piracy is to deny the oxygen of publicity, so we will not publicize any examples. We would instead repeat previous admonitions that if a performance / CD / merchandise item is not endorsed on the official / member site [s], it cannot be regarded as official. Asia’s and its members’ names and reputations are constantly being monitored by their lawyers. |
