A Glowing Endorsement!
Tuesday, 03 October 2006
With all of the accolades the band has earned during the American tour, no less thrilled were the owners of the many venues they played in. Courtesy of management, here is but one sample. This message was sent to a large number of other venue owners, sharing the author's reflections on the original Asia reunion show. It has been reprinted with the full permission of the writer.

Hello Presenting Friends,

I wanted to give you all heads up that when / if the All Four Original members of Asia tour comes around again, and they probably will according to their manager, you should take a look at it. We had 'em last night.

The audience gave them a standing ovation when they walked out, a standing ovation at the end of the first song, after the second song, and after the third song. By the time Carl Palmer came out from behind the drum kit after the 3rd song and told the audience they were going to play all the big Asia hits but were also going to play tunes from each others' other bands, and then they lit into "Roundabout" as the 4th song, well... by that time the audience knew they were in for something special and were totally delirious.

They played two sets (1 hour and 1:15... intermission is always good for the bar and concession!), played all the Asia hits including "Heat of the Moment, "Only Time Will Tell," "Soul Survivor," and many more, and also played Yes' "Roundabout," King Crimson's "In the Court of the Crimson King," The Buggles' "Video Killed the Radio Star," Emerson Lake & Palmer's progressive rock version of Aaron Copland's "Fanfare for the Common Man," and Steve Howe soloed on his Yes acoustic ragtime guitar tune "Clap."

Anyway, just wanted to pass on news of a winner if it comes around again.  William Morris is the agent.

Band Members Receive Police Escort!
Friday, 22 September 2006

In a display befitting royalty, the members of the band were provided with a police escort on Wednesday. With only 30 minutes to make it from the KLOS studios (near LAX Airport) to Glendale and the EXTRA TV studios for interviews, the band were escorted courtesy of the California Highway Patrol. In addition, EXTRA provided two cadillacs for the guys to ride in the lap of luxury.

In addition to the EXTRA appearance today and Monday, the local CBS Palm Desert affiliate filmed the KLOS appearance, the police escort and an interview for their own feature on the band which will be playing this weekend.

West Coast Radio Appearances

With the reunion tour rolling along, the band have made several media appearances on the west coast over the past few days. On Tuesday, the entire band were guests of Mark and Brian on 95.5 KLOS , and today Geoff and John sat down with Kevin & Bean at 106.7 KROQ. Coincidentally, it may be the first time that any artists have done Mark and Brian one day, and KROQ the next. We hope to be posting a segment from the KROQ interview soon. Please keep an eye on the news section!
