ASIA is pleased to confirm that “Face on the Bridge”, the first single from their forthcoming album XXX, has now been A-listed by Planet Rock, the well respected station in the UK.
A promo video has also been made on the song, which continues to be available on YouTube, and the single will be available to purchase from iTunes on 14th May 2012.

Asia celebrates the 30th Anniversary of its Debut Album Today

Their debut became the biggest selling album of 1982, spending 9 weeks at Number 1 in the charts, with reportedly 1 in every 13 US households owning a copy. The pedigree of the four members and its iconic Roger Dean cover underpinned 9 classic rock songs that set the standard for numerous albums to follow.
The album also gave its audience the worldwide hit HEAT OF THE MOMENT which is still used in motion pictures and TV shows, such as The 40 Year Old Virgin and South Park. The follow up single, ONLY TIME WILL TELL, was another worldwide smash hit. As a measure of the album’s appeal, no less than 6 of the album’s 9 tracks were major radio hits in the United States.
Today, ASIA still performs with its original line-up of Geoff Downes, Steve Howe, Carl Palmer and John Wetton. Their new album, XXX, due out on Frontiers Records in the summer, blends their unique individual talents and a new Roger Dean cover, showing the dragon 30 years later, to deliver an album that will appeal to fans around the world.

Thirty years after its eponymous debut album, ASIA ascended to the top of the Billboard Top 100 chart (where the album remained No.1 for 9 consecutive weeks). The legendary British classic rock band returns with a new studio album, a 30th Anniversary edition of their debut album, 2 DVDs, and a world tour that includes UK, Europe, Japan and America.
ASIA will release their new studio album “XXX” (pronounced Triple X) via Frontiers Records, on Monday July 2nd. The new album, produced by Mike Paxman, has been hailed as ASIA’s best album since its classic early 80s releases. The album will be released on CD, collector’s edition CD/DVD (featuring new music videos and behind the scenes footage), and on a limited edition vinyl.
The first single taken from the highly anticipated new album is entitled “Face On The Bridge”, released digitally worldwide on Monday May 14th.
Asia will be headlining at the Weyfest Festival, which runs from 31st August - 2nd September, 2012. The band will be performing on Sunday, 2nd September.

(New York, NY) – Frontiers Records is set to release a special edition live CD/DVD box set from supergroup Asia. SPIRIT OF THE NIGHT – THE PHOENIX TOUR LIVE IN CAMBRIDGE 2009 will be released in North America on March 8th. The CD boasts 13 tracks, which includes a CD-only track exclusive, as well as a bonus track, while the DVD features 85 minutes of material, as well as bonus DVD content including an EPK and special footage of “In The Court Of The Crimson King” featuring King Crimson founding member Ian MacDonald. In support of the new live release and their most recent studio album OMEGA (also released via Frontiers Records), Asia will tour in North America, kicking off dates at The State Theatre in Easton, PA on Thursday, April 28th. Happy New Year to all! 2011 is here, and with it come some changes.
First, Dave Gallant, who in the simplest terms handled the Armada email newsletter since its inception and was a conduit between fans and the band, has decided to pursue other goals in life effective Dec. 31, 2010. From the early days of the band's presence on the web, Dave worked tirelessly to champion the music, first as a fan and then later as an official voice. Without a doubt, his efforts helped keep a public interest in Asia and certainly were instrumental in the renewed success the band has experienced since their reunion. While all of us in the Asia camp will miss the professional relationship with Dave, we look forward to continuing our friendship for years to come. Thank you, Dave, and best wishes! (Read Dave's farewell letters here.)
Second, with Dave's "retirement" and the depreciation of email lists as a mass communication tool, the decision was made to discontinue the Armada email newsletter and move to the social media services Twitter and Facebook. The web site also continues to provide a RSS feed that can be subscribed to via readers such as the web-based Google Reader (for those with free Gmail accounts), Firefox and Internet Explorer web browsers (via smart bookmarks), or a multitude of free desktop applications for all platforms. Those that wish to continue to receive updates via email but do not wish to sign up for Twitter or Facebook accounts can do so via a free web service at feedmyinbox.com. Simply enter the web site URL (originalasia.com) and your email address and you will receive daily summaries of any posts to the site.
